For those arriving by car: take the exit from the Motorway A14, which connects Riccione to the North and South of Italy (information about Italian motorways at the dedicated webpages by Autostrade per l'Italia)



It is the new public transport system that connects Riccione with Rimini and uses low environmental impact buses, soon completely electric. Main buses travelling around Riccione:

Bus no. 11: from Rimini to the spa area of Riccione Terme (travelling through Viale D'annunzio to viale Torino and return)
Bus no. 58: from the south area of Fontanelle to the spa area, going on to piazzale Curiel, railway station, Riccione Paese, the theme parks Oltremare/Aquafan, the town of Coriano and return.
Bus no. 43: from downtown to the northern area of Riccione San Lorenzo (sports facilities and cemetery) and return.
Bus no. 55 (summer schedules): from the spa area to the town of Misano and return.

Bus no. 124: one bus route from Riccione Paese (via Ceccarini uptown) to Rimini (hospital and railway station) another bus route from Riccione Paese to the town of Morciano di Romagna.

Bus no. 125: from downtown (p.le Curiel) to the southern area of the campsites and to the towns of Misano and Cattolica and return.

The name (in local pronunciation Arcaton) comes from the Greek and Byzantine occupation dated back to the sixth century AD: "Archeion" is the name of a plant, the burr, which still grows spontaneously in some areas of the beach now occupied by the bathing establishments but which was once abundant on the desert shore of Riccione.
